Why Classic Mercury Owners Choose Water Hogs Works

These engines deserve more than ordinary machine work. We focus on the details unique to classic Kiekhaefer Mercury outboards — careful measurement, correct clearances, proper machining practices and preservation of original components whenever practical.

Measured Before. Measured After. Documented.

Precision work starts with knowing exactly what we have. Critical dimensions are measured before work begins, checked throughout the machining or rebuilding process, and verified again before the job leaves the shop.

For cylinder and powerhead machining, customers receive a written machining record documenting cylinder measurements, piston dimensions, final bore sizes and piston-to-cylinder clearances.
