TERMS & DISCLAIMER

Last Updated: September 2, 2026

WaterHogsWorks provides restoration, machining, rebuilding, component restoration, and related services for classic and vintage outboard motors and their components. By requesting services from WaterHogsWorks, you acknowledge the following terms and conditions.

VINTAGE AND USED COMPONENTS

Classic outboard motors and their components may be several decades old and can contain wear, corrosion, previous repairs, modifications, hidden damage, material fatigue, or other conditions that may not be apparent during an initial inspection.

WaterHogsWorks will make reasonable efforts to inspect and evaluate components before and during service. However, the condition, service life, or future performance of vintage components cannot be guaranteed.

MACHINING AND RESTORATION SERVICES

Machining and restoration work is performed based on the condition of the component, available specifications, measurements, replacement parts, and the intended use of the engine.

Additional problems may be discovered after disassembly, cleaning, inspection, or machining begins. If significant additional work or parts are required, WaterHogsWorks may contact the customer before proceeding.

Measurements and machining records may be provided where applicable as part of the service performed.

ESTIMATES AND QUOTES

Initial estimates or quotes are based on the information and photographs available at the time of evaluation.

Final cost may change if additional damage, wear, missing components, incorrect parts, previous repairs, or other unforeseen conditions are discovered after the engine or component is physically inspected or disassembled.

CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS

WaterHogsWorks may, when appropriate, perform work using parts supplied by the customer.

WaterHogsWorks cannot guarantee the quality, authenticity, dimensions, suitability, or service life of customer-supplied parts and is not responsible for failures caused by defective, incorrect, improperly manufactured, or unsuitable customer-supplied components.

PARTS AVAILABILITY

Many parts for classic Mercury outboards are obsolete, discontinued, used, reproduction, new-old-stock, or otherwise limited in availability.

Completion times and the ability to complete certain services may depend on the availability and condition of suitable parts.

SHIPPING AND TRANSPORTATION

Customers are responsible for properly packaging engines and components sent to WaterHogsWorks.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, WaterHogsWorks is not responsible for loss or damage occurring while items are being transported by third-party shipping carriers. Customers should use appropriate packaging, tracking, and insurance when shipping valuable or irreplaceable vintage components.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND DOCUMENTATION

WaterHogsWorks may photograph engines, components, machining operations, and restoration work for documentation and business records.

WaterHogsWorks will not intentionally publish personally identifying customer information with such photographs without permission.
