Complete Restorations
1962 Merc 450 — Complete Restoration
Complete restoration of this classic 1962 Merc 450, with careful attention to original appearance, mechanical condition and period-correct details. Restored to be more than a display piece—built to run and be enjoyed.
Powerhead & Machine Work
Cylinder inspection, measurement, precision boring and finish honing for classic Mercury powerheads. Each block is measured throughout the machining process with piston-to-cylinder clearance established for the specific piston being used.
Complete disassembly and inspection of internal components, including crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, bearings and cylinder block. Components are inspected and measured before reassembly to determine what can be properly reused and what requires replacement or machining.
Carburetor & Component Restoration
Complete disassembly, inspection and cleaning of classic Mercury carburetors, including ultrasonic cleaning, fuel-passage inspection, float and needle inspection, and careful reassembly and initial adjustment.
Float & Fuel-System Inspection
Carburetor floats, needles, seats and related fuel-system components are inspected for condition and proper operation during restoration. Attention to these details is critical to proper fuel level, starting and overall carburetor performance.
Magneto & Ignition Service
Classic Mercury magnetos are carefully disassembled, inspected and serviced with attention to points, condensers, coils, wiring and other ignition components. Proper setup and testing help ensure reliable starting and strong ignition performance.
